Welcome to the Enterprising Women of Kibera!
The Enterprising women of Kibera is a women's self help group that was founded in 1992 with am aim to support the local women of Kibera, in Nairobi, Kenya by providing the women an alternative source of livelihood to help them become economically independent.
The Enterprising Women of Kibera Self Help Group (EWKSHG) was started with support from Akili Mama NGO based in Nairobi, Kenya. The group works with women in Kibera from Ayani Location in Kibera and builds their skills in making hand-made jewelry and crafts and selling them at national and international markets.
Kibera is among the largest slum in Africa with a population of about 500,000 - 1,000,000 people. More information on Kibera can be found here
